At the UW vs Nebraska football game, a person decided to display a costume in a two sided mask of President Obama and Hilary Clinton with a noose around their neck. UW-Madison labeled this display free speech and students decided to push back on social media.
Black student athletes also weighed in on the inappropriate costume making it past security.
The UW Athletics department then issued this statement in response:
Students weren’t impressed.
